Ranking Toolbox Google Reports
The search engine optimization tool Ranking Toolbox has problems displaying search reports from Google search engines. There is an easy fix for this. Read on if you are interested.
No Google Reports in Ranking Toolbox
If you check URLs in regards to their ranking in search engines for specific keywords you will find that none of the Google reports have any entries. Although I downloaded the latest search engine database this issue was not fixed. The other search engine reports seem to work fine.
The Fix
The good news is that it is easy to resolve this problem. The Ranking Toolbox [1] lets you define your own search engines and edit existing ones.
In the menu bar click on Options and then Search Engine.

Now scroll down to the list of Google entries. On the left hand site you have the search engine names, on the right hand site you’ll see the parameters you can modify. The two that are highlighted in yellow are the ones you need to change.

At the time of this posting the entries for the Google search engines are as follows:
* Google (AT), (CH), (DE), (FR)
** Title starts with: ‹h2 class=r›
** Matches start after: ‹font size=+1› ‹b›Web‹/b›‹/font›
* Google (UK), (US)
** Title starts with: ‹h2 class=r›
** Matches start after: ‹font size=-1›‹b›Web‹/b›
Do not forget to save your changes. Now your search engine ranking reports should work for the Google entries.
Be aware that these entries could change at any time. I will post changes here as soon as I notice them.
